AIYS is a joint program of APCC and APTS designed to see pentecostal youth workers raised up who can effectively maximize their efforts in reaching
and discipling the more than 300 million high school and college-age youth in the region for Jesus Christ. This 11-day program takes place on the APTS
campus in Baguio City, Philippines.
Participants have stated that their burden and vision for the youth has greatly increased as they absorbed dynamic instruction from a team of Asian and western lecturers. Many sessions have ended with prayer and brokenness as students and staff seek God for His will to be worked in and through them. Also, students are given opportunity to apply what they learn through discussions over meals and through campus prayerwalks sponsored by the institute.
PATRICK TAN (AIYS '04) - Youth Pastor, Sectional Youth Leaders-Philippines
"Hi, there! Just wanna ask for the dates of AIYS 09. I look forward to sending 2 of my youth leaders. I know they will benefit from this just as I did 4 years ago. AIYS '04 was a pivotal event in my life. This was where I received my calling. Thank you for making a significant investment in my life."
GATUT BUDIYONO (AIYS '00/'04) - General Treasurer Indonesia AoG, Former National Youth Director Indonesia
"AIYS has meant much to the youth ministry of Indonesia! God has used it to provide us knowledge, passion, and skills in reaching this generation. Each time we (the national youth committee) have attended, we have returned home more confident and united in purpose in accomplishing the work."
TERESA KO (AIYS '00/'04) - Youth Pastor, Book of Hope-Taiwan
"I came to AIYS 2000 planning to resign from youth ministry. Instead, God used AIYS to restore His call on my life. Three words stand out to me form AIYS - passion, vision, and strategy. The second time I attended I brought someone with me. She and her husband have joined me in youth ministry. I plan to bring more to AIYS 2009!"
VICTOR GONZALES (AIYS '00) - Youth Pastor, Banting, Malaysia
"AIYS affirmed my calling to youth ministry. The teaching of seasoned youth ministers from across the region caused my ministry to be fueled not only
with zeal, but relevant wisdom for real-life application. It opened the door of regional networking far greater than I could have imagined."
There are over 300 million high school and college age youth in the Asia Pacific region. The Asian Institute of Youth Studies is designed to see
Pentecostal youth workers raised up who can effectively maximize their efforts in reaching these youth for Jesus Christ.
Not only is this generation making a profound impact on society today, they are the resource pool of tomorrow’s leaders. Evidence of their significance
can be seen in their exploitation by the media and marketers.
As the church is active in targeting this strategic people group, we have the God-given opportunity to dramatically affect the destiny of nations. In touching
the life of a student, you touch the future. Those who though the future, change the world!
In response to the unique needs of both high school and college youth, The Asian Institute of Youth Studies offers a Y-track:
A. Institute of Youth Ministry (IYM)
Track # 1 targets the needs of youth ministry on the national, district, and local levels.
B. Institute of Campus Ministry (ICM)
Track # 2 will address the needs of those specializing in ministry to young adults on the college and university campuses.
Specifically designed to train and equip, not just inform. AIYS seeks to provide a balanced emphasis on both the philosophy and practices of
reaching today’s youth culture.
